Man Allegedly Threatened With Knife After Refusing Kiss At Gay Bar

FERNDALE (CBS Detroit) A 27-year-old man told police he was threatened with a knife when he refused another man's request for a kiss at Soho House in Ferndale.

It happened at the gay bar at about 11 p .m. Sunday night.

"He felt threatened so he informed the bartender and the bartender called police," said Ferndale Det. Brendan Moore.

Moore added the suspect is white, in his 20s, 5-foot-9, 170 pounds and was wearing a dark T-shirt and blue jeans. The T-shirt had white lettering that said "Moons Out Goons Out" in green letters.

He allegedly approached another man at the bar and chatted him up before asking if he could give him a smooch. The victim said "no" and said the would-be aggressor became visibly angry.

He allegedly took a folding knife from his pocket, pointed it at the other man's waist and told the victim to follow him.

The victim instead asked the bartender for help, and the other man left before police arrived.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ferndale Police at 248-541-3560.
