Man Accused Of Fleeing Scene Of Waterford Rollover Crash

WATERFORD TWP. (WWJ) - A Pontiac man is facing charges after police say he rolled over in his vehicle and then fled the scene.

Waterford Township police responded to the accident after 3 a.m. on Monday, in the area of Pontiac Lake Rd. and Farm.

Arriving officers saw the single, flipped vehicle, along with some fresh blood and footprints in the snow — but the driver wasn't anywhere in sight, police said. There were no other cars involved.

Police were able to trace the vehicle's registration to a home in the 300-block of Glenbrook, where they found the alleged driver, identified as 32-year-old Larry Darnell Dixson.

Police said Dixon admitted to officers that he'd been drinking alcohol just before the accident.

He was arrested on charged of leaving the scene of a person injury accident and on suspicion of operating while intoxicated (OWI).  Results of a blood alcohol test by the Michigan State Police Crime Lab are pending.

Dixon remained lodged, Tuesday, at the Oakland County Jail.
