Man, 60, Hurt After Vehicle Strikes Mobility Scooter

BATTLE CREEK (AP) — A 60-year-old man has been injured after a vehicle struck his electric mobility scooter in southern Michigan.

Two people reported finding the man unresponsive early Saturday morning on a street in Battle Creek, southeast of Grand Rapids.

Witnesses say the driver of the vehicle drove away after the crash.

The victim was knocked from the scooter. He was being treated at an area hospital.

Police say the man may have been hit while in a bike lane or along the right side of the street.
