Man, 52, Sentenced In Fatal Shooting At St. Clair County Mobile Home Park

PORT HURON (AP) - A 52-year-old man has been sentenced to 22 to 42 years in prison for the fatal shooting of another man in what authorities say was an argument about trash at a mobile home park in St. Clair County.

The Times Herald of Port Huron reports that St. Clair County Circuit Judge Cynthia Lane on Monday called Jess Bowman a danger and menace to society.

A jury convicted Bowman last month of second-degree murder in the August shooting of 43-year-old Timothy Belisle at Americana Estates in Casco Township, about 35 miles northeast of Detroit.

Defense attorney Daniel Damman argued that Bowman pulled the trigger to defend himself and his girlfriend.

Prosecutors said the argument was over broken glass in the road.
