Man, 20, Fatally Shot During Ypsilanti Block Party

YPSILANTI, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - A 20-year-old man has been shot to death at an Ypsilanti block party attended by more than 100 people.

Police were called to the area shortly after midnight Sunday reports the Ann Arbor News.

According to authorities police found the man shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Police say the block party developed spontaneously. No arrests have been reported.

Five people, including a 14-year-old, were shot during a June 28 block party on Detroit's east side. In another incident,  one man, Malique Jones, was killed and 12 others were wounded during a shootout at a June 20 block party on Detroit's west side. The incident was referred to by Detroit Police Chief James Craig as an "act of urban terrorism."
