Major Electronics Waste Recycling Event Coming To Ann Arbor In May

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - The University of Michigan is planning a major electronics waste recycling event next month.

The free May 7 event at Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor is designed to help area residents, small businesses and nonprofits dispose of electronics in an environmentally responsible way. The effort runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is part of a three-day recycling event.

The recycling is sponsored by the University of Michigan's Office of Campus Sustainability and the Ann Arbor Public Schools. Since 2008, the event has filled a combined total of 149 semi-trailers and diverted a total of 1,782 tons of electronic waste from landfills.
