Madison Heights Teen Suspended After Bringing Gun To School

MADISON HEIGHTS (WWJ) - A Madison Heights teen has been suspended after allegedly bringing a gun to class.

Spokesperson Tonya Holcome said that, just before class was dismissed on Monday, two students at Four Corners Montessori in Madison Heights told school officials that an eighth grader may be carrying a gun.

Staff members questioned the boy in an empty classroom, where he admitted that he had brought a weapon to school. Holcome said police were called in to investigate, but it doesn't appear the teen intended to do anyone any harm. She said he may have just wanted to show off the gun.

No one was hurt.

The student has been suspended pending a police investigation. His name has not been released.
