Macomb County Man Jailed After Investigation Finds Child Porn At Mobile Home

MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) - A Clinton Township man is jailed on multiple charges after investigators found a cache of child pornography at his home.

Richard Sherman Johnson, 42, was arrested at a residence in the Silver Springs Mobile Home Community on Sunday, June 26, where he lives with his wife and another couple.

Macomb County Sheriff's Lt. John Michalke told WWJ Newsradio 950's John Hewett the arrest follows a nearly three-month-long  investigation by the Macomb Area Computer Enforcement (MACE).

"It started with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children," Michalke said. "During the course of the execution of the search warrant, electronic communication devices were seized, images were discovered and the individual, Richard Sherman Johnson, was arrested."

Johnson was arraigned via video feed in the 41B District Court of Clinton Township on Friday on five criminal counts, including child sexually abusive activity, distributing or possessing child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.

He remained jailed Tuesday on a $25,000 cash or surety bond.

Johnson's next court appearance was set for Wednesday, July 13.
