Macomb County Man Faces Same Charge For 25th Time

MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) - A Macomb County man who already had 24 convictions for driving with a suspended license has been busted once again.

Macomb County Sheriff's deputies, last Friday night, pulled 51-year-old Scott Weideman over for suspicion of driving under the influence, after motorists reported seeing a man in a white van driving erratically near Main and Market streets in Mount Clemens.

Weideman allegedly told deputies that he had no I.D. on him, and gave them a fake name.

Weideman was searched, deputies said, and they found that he had a half-pint of Fireball whiskey tucked into his pants, and a rock of crack cocaine in his vehicle.

He was taken the Macomb County Jail to await charges, and his van was impounded

Sheriff's officials say Weideman had two probation violation warrants out for his arrest and his operator's license was currently suspended.

Deputies later learned that Weideman had 24 previous convictions for driving while license suspended. The first conviction dates back to 1985.
