Macomb County Looking At Sweep Of Parents Owing Child Support

MACOMB COUNTY (CBS DETROIT) - Attention for those who owe child support in Macomb County -- you could be getting a visit from the Sheriff.

Starting today if you owe child support in Macomb County you could be getting a visit from the sheriff's department which will include a trip to the country jail.

It's part of a week long bench warrant sweep taking place in an effort to get parents who are behind in child support up to date reports WWJ's Legal Analyst Charlie Langton.

However, those who voluntarily show up at Friend of the Court, could qualify for a reduced state owed arrearage program.

It's a joint effort between the Sheriff's Office and the Macomb County Friend of the Court.
