Macomb Community College Reopens Following Gunman Scare

CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Macomb Community College's Center Campus is reopening Thursday, a day after reports of a gunman caused a scare at the school.

The campus, in Clinton Township, was closed early Wednesday following reports of a man with a gun on campus. School officials said the reports came from a group email between students. One student claimed he was in a men's restroom on campus when he thought he heard someone loading a clip into a pistol in an adjacent stall, officials said.

Police responded to the campus and after a thorough search, found no signs of the gunman.

No injuries were reported.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Center Campus police at 586-286-2123.
