Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places? Tyrese And Rev Run Want To Help

DETROIT (WWJ) - Looking for love in all the wrong places? A couple of big name celebrities think they may be able to help.

Film and recording superstar Tyrese Gibson and hip-hop legend Rev Run talk relationships every week on their show, "It's Not You, It's Men." Rev Run, who's happily married, says before he and his wife tied the knot, celibacy was key.

"That had to do with biblical principles," Rev Run told WWJ's Terri Lee. "Biblical principles of not having sex, or anything like that until you get married was a part of what I understood to be correct."

Gibson, however, says celibacy is not for everyone, himself included.

"If you do wait according to the word of God, then I respect you for it, and good luck," Gibson said. "Sometimes it comes together, other times, it don't."

But considering the crazy things that happen in Hollywood, I wondered why viewers should take advice from celebrities.

"You could take it from a celebrity, or you could take it from Dr. Phil, or you could take it just from a gathering of people," Rev Run answered. "We just happen to be celebrities who want to talk about relationships."

Gibson added that, yes, they're famous. But, they're also real people tackling real issues.

"We happen to be famous," Gibson replied. "But we're real men with real conversations and real dialogue, and no one is saying I can't relate to what he's saying because he's famous."

So, just what kind of woman is single dad Tyrese looking for?

"I used to be attracted to very aggressive women with huge personalities, and now I really love the more soft and sweet and kind of, you know, women with voices that may not even go above a certain octave," Tyrese said. "I'm attracted to a very soft personality because my personality is so big."

Tyrese says he also loves a woman who's educated and loves God.

So, ladies, there you have it - straight from the man himself!

On another topic, I asked Tyrese if he could provide a sneak peek into the next "Furious" film, which will be the eighth in the popular film franchise. His answer:

"Yeah, I'm waiting on some sneak peeks, too," he answered. "I don't have nothing to give," he says, before adding, "I know a couple things, but I can't speak on it," he said laughing.

At least I tried!

As far as his and Rev Run's TV show, "Its Not You, It's Men" airs on OWN Saturdays at 9 p.m. EST. Will they ever take the show on the road and bring it to The D?

"I would love to bring the show on the road," Tyrese said. "I mean, we shoot it in L.A. and, hopefully, we can put some dates together and hit the road and have this same dialogue in other places. That would be amazing."

Should that happen, remember just who helped make it happen!
