Livonia School Board Expected To Vote On School Closures In District

LIVONIA (WWJ) - The Livonia School Board Monday night is expected to vote on a plan to close one, possibly two, elementary school buildings following a decline in enrollment.

Each of the four recommendations would see students being moved to neighboring school buildings, and moving the Western Wayne Skills Center to a new location.

The proposed building closures would save the district several million dollars.

The Livonia school district has lost nearly 1,500 students since it began planning bond projects five years ago.
