Livonia Officials Issue Water Alert; Repairs May Cause Low Pressure And Discoloration

LIVONIA (WWJ) -- A water alert has been issued for Livonia residents as the Livonia Water Department is conducting repairs on water pressure regulating valves at Stark Rd. and Schoolcraft.

City officials confirmed that the repairs may result in temporary low water pressure for residents and businesses east of Farmington Road, and may result in some discoloration of the water. Officials said that running the water for a few minutes in your lowest sink should clear it up.

Officials in Livonia confirmed that someone ran into a fire hydrant at Linden and Inkster on Saturday morning, near I-96. The water may -- but not necessarily -- be boiled. Repairs are expected to be finished by 9 p.m. on Saturday night.
