Livonia Man Hit By Forklift At Ohio Honda Facility Dies

RAYMOND, Ohio (WWJ/AP) - Authorities say a metro Detroit man has died after being hit in the head by a forklift while working at a Honda research and development facility in central Ohio.

A Union County coroner's investigator said Ghouse Gulam, a contract worker at the Honda R&D Americas facility, was struck Monday morning while walking outside in a causeway between buildings. Gulam was taken to a hospital where he died from a crushed skull.

Investigators say the forklift was carrying a trash bucket and the driver's visibility may have been hindered. The forklift driver was also a contract worker.

Honda said Gulam was a resident of Livonia, Michigan, living in Ohio temporarily while working at the Honda site.

The incident remains under investigation.
