Lions' Tomlinson, UVa's Brian Voted ACC Athletes Of The Year

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Duke football player Laken Tomlinson and Virginia women's soccer player Morgan Brian are the Atlantic Coast Conference's male and female athletes of the year.

The league announced its overall award winners Tuesday following a vote by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.

Tomlinson helped Duke earn its third straight bowl berth and was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the first round.

He received 10 votes to eight for Notre Dame basketball player Jerian Grant and seven for Florida State track and football player Jalen Ramsey.

Brian had 13 votes for the women's award to seven for Louisville swimmer Kelsi Worrell. Brian is the only active college player on the U.S. national team competing at the Women's World Cup.
