Lions Thanksgiving Game Is The Most-Watched NFL Game Of 2016 -- So Far

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) - Americans sure do love some football with their Thanksgiving turkey.

Thursday's match-up between the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions at Ford Field was the most-watched NFL telecast-to-date in the 2016 season with 27.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen fast national ratings.

That's up nine percent from last year, when 25.4 million people tuned in to see the Lions obliterate the Philadelphia Eagles, 45-14.

The 27.6 million viewers was CBS's most-watched NFL regular-season broadcast this season and overall most-watched since last year's Thanksgiving Day game (Carolina vs. Dallas; 32.5 million).
