Lions Sign TE Logan Thomas To Practice Squad

Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed TE Logan Thomas to the team's practice squad and released LB Brandon Chubb from the practice squad.

Thomas (6-6, 250) entered the NFL as a quarterback after being drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth round (120th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Virginia Tech. He most recently spent time on the New York Giants (2016) and Miami Dolphins (2015) practice squads after appearing in two games for the Cardinals in 2014.

A four-year (2009-13) letterman at Virginia Tech, Thomas started 40 of his 47 games for the Hokies. His career totals in college include 693 completions on 1,248 attempts (55.5 pct), 9,003 passing yards and 53 touchdowns, in addition to 495 carries for 1,359 rushing yards (2.7 avg) and 24 touchdowns.
