Lions Sign Free Agent DE Quanterus Smith

Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed free agent DE Quanterus Smith. Contract terms were not disclosed.

Smith joins the Lions defense after spending the 2015 season on the New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars practice squads. He began his NFL career with the Denver Broncos from 2013-14, where he appeared in 15 games.

Originally drafted by the Broncos in the fifth round (146 overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Western Kentucky, Smith has recorded 11 career tackles (seven solo), including two tackles for loss, and two pass defenses.
