According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Lions have traded for the Bucs' Tim Wright, a tight end who has caught 80 passes for 830 yards and 11 touchdowns in his career.

The Lions have several tight ends on the roster now, but with the 75-man roster cut looming on Tuesday, some will probably see the ax in the next couple of days. As of Monday morning, the roster still included Deon Butler, Eric Ebron, Joseph Fauria, Jacob Maxwell, Brandon Pettigrew and Casey Pierce.

Last season, tight ends were responsible for two Lions touchdowns - Fauria and Ebron each had one.

Wright was originally undrafted out of college, but played a year in Tampa Bay and last year with the Patriots, then was claimed off waivers this year by Tampa again. He's a big body (6-4, 220 pounds) who can be a pass-catching cog in the offense.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Lions gave away kicker Kyle Brindza in the exchange.
