Lions Draft Arkansas C Travis Swanson In 3rd Round

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions have selected Arkansas center Travis Swanson in the third round of the NFL draft.

Detroit drafted Swanson 76th overall on Friday night.

The Lions added Swanson to give them depth behind Dominic Raiola, who they drafted in 2001. Swanson was one of six finalists for the Rimington Trophy, which is awarded to college football's best center.

Detroit took North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron with the 10th pick overall on Thursday night. The Lions traded up five spots to draft Brigham Young outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy in the second round with the 40th overall pick earlier on Friday night.
