Layoffs slated for about 60 employees of McCann Detroit

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - Layoffs have been announced for about 60 employees who work at McCann Detroit in Birmingham. 

The expected permanent separation date for the affected advertising agency staff at 360 W. Maple Blvd. is April 5, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification notice that the company filed with Michigan's Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity. 

The WARN act requires companies going through mass layoffs and / or site closures to issue advance public notice to the state's labor department, should that step meet certain requirements for the size of company or number of people involved.    

The job positions listed in the notice include account director, digital artist, designer and copy editor.
