Lacey Holsworth Memorial Service Set For April 17

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — A memorial service will be held next week for an 8-year-old girl with cancer who befriended Michigan State basketball star Adreian Payne.

Matt Holsworth says the service for his daughter Lacey is set for April 17 at the Breslin Center, the Spartans' home arena.

Matt Holsworth says Lacey died at their St. Johns home late Tuesday. The little girl affectionately known as "Princess Lacey," had neuroblastoma, a nerve-cell cancer. She wore a blond wig because chemotherapy took her hair.

Lacey met Payne during one of her hospital stays two years ago, and their friendship quickly blossomed. She became a valued member of the Spartan family.

Holsworth said Wednesday that Lacey "loved unconditionally and without hesitation."
