Kroger Expands Recall Of Sunflower Seeds, Trail Mix, Deli Salads Over Listeria Risk

DETROIT (WWJ) - Kroger is expanding its recall of several products that may be contaminated with a potentially dangerous bacteria.

Earlier this month, supplier SunOpta announced its sunflower kernels may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes — an organism which could result in severe illness to those individuals who may consume these products, sold in Michigan and multiple other states.

The company says no illnesses have been reported to date in connection with these Kroger products, which are now being pulled from store shelves.
