Kings Become Second NBA Team To Put Ad On Jerseys [PHOTO]

Last year, the NBA approved the addition of advertisements to team jerseys, becoming the first major North American sports league to do so.

The Philadelphia 76ers were the first to strike a deal with an advertiser, agreeing to put the StubHub logo on their jerseys starting in 2017-2018.

The floodgates now are open and next up are the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings announced a jersey advertisement deal with Blue Diamond Almonds on Monday for an expected $5 million per year.

Nike will take over equipment and apparel duties for the NBA starting in 2017, so the Nike swoosh will be on the opposite side of whatever ad a team chooses for their jerseys.

It is still uncertain if retail jerseys sold online and in team stores will feature the ads.
