Kate Upton Blasts Miami Dolphins' Players Kneeling During National Anthem

DETROIT (WWJ) - Supermodel and Michigan native Kate Upton was upset with several Miami Dolphins players for kneeling during the National Anthem on Sunday, and shared her thoughts on social media.

Upton's tweets blasted the players writing "this is unacceptable" and "we should support each other" on September 11, the 15-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

Detroit Tigers ace pitcher Justin Verlander tweeted "I choose to stand."

The debate over whether athletes should stand or sit in protest during the anthem has escalated over the last couple weeks since San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick made waves when he sat during the national anthem before a preseason game.
