Judge To Hear Evidence In EMU Player's Death

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — A court hearing is planned for two young men who could be ordered to trial in the fatal shooting of an Eastern Michigan University football player.

A District Court judge in Washtenaw County will hear evidence Friday to determine if there's probable cause to send 20-year-old Ed Thomas and 19-year-old Kristopher Pratt to trial for murder.

Demarius Reed was found shot in the stairwell at his off-campus apartment building in October. Police say robbery may have been the motive.

Reed was a 20-year-old wide receiver and communications major from Chicago.
