Jim Harbaugh Finishes 4th In U-M Student Body Presidential Election As Write-In Candidate

Students and fans in Ann Arbor are really taking a liking to new Michigan Wolverines football coach Jim Harbaugh -- even though he has yet to coach a single game.

The results for the University of Michigan student government presidential election were released to the school's student publication, The Michigan Daily, on Friday, which reported that Harbaugh finished in fourth place strictly as a write-in candidate.

"Harbaugh received 115 votes for president in total, including 82 votes for "Jim Harbaugh," another 18 simply for "Harbaugh" and four for the joint ticket of "Jim Harbaugh and Diag Squirrel."

Harbaugh's 115 votes give him 1.26 percent of the total vote.

Other voters were more creative with their write-in submissions, with the tickets "Jim Harbaugh and Jabrill Peppers," "Jim Harbaugh and His Khakis" and "Jim Harbaugh and Jesus Shuttlesworth" receiving one vote each."

According to The Michigan Daily, the votes have yet to be made official. At this rate, Harbaugh will have a statue outside the Big House before the Spring Game...
