Jaguars LB Smith Returns To Team After Brother's Death

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith has returned to the team following his brother's death.

Smith attended Friday meetings and was expected to take part in the team's walkthrough later in the day.

Smith's brother was shot and killed in their hometown of Valdosta, Georgia, on Sunday. Smith went home Monday and missed two days of practice and meetings. Adding to his emotional week, Smith's girlfriend gave birth to their son on Wednesday.

The Jaguars said Smith won't be made available to the media Friday, but his return could mean he plays at Detroit on Sunday. If not, rookie Myles Jack would fill in for him.

Smith ranks second on the team with 71 tackles.
