When you think of top Michigan State football players, who are the first few names that pop in your head? From the vantage point of my generation, I think of Charles Rogers, Kirk Cousins, Max Bullough, Darqueze Dennard and of course Connor Cook.

There was an article published by The Sporting News stating that Michigan State's Connor Cook is a November Heisman contender.

This is the first time I have seen a national publication put Cook into the discussion. Usually you read about Ezekiel Elliott from Ohio State or Leonard Fournette from LSU or even Christian McCaffrey from Stanford.

The very bottom of the story listed the Top 10 Michigan State Spartans of all-time.

Names that are on the list are Bubba Smith, Lorenzo White, Brad Van Pelt, George Webster, Percy Snow, Tony Mandarich, Kirk Cousins, Charles Rogers, Darqueze Dennard and Julian Peterson.

Cook's name was left off that list. Cook is 31-3 as a starter, won a Rose Bowl, 3-0 against Michigan and 3-0 in bowl games.

He's good,  but do you think Cook is a top ten Spartan of all-time?
