Inkster Homeowner Opens Fire On Attemped Robber, Kills Him

INKSTER (WWJ) A chaotic scene unfolded when an Inkster homeowner walked in on a burglary in process at his home overnight.

There were two robbers in the house and at least one opened fire on the homeowner, WWJ's Mike Campbell reported.

The homeowner, who has a legally licensed weapon, also opened fire, killing one of the attempted robbers, police said.

The homeowner suffered a gunshot wound in the melee. He was struck in the leg, police said.

The homeowner is being treated for gunshot wounds at a local hospital. Police are looking into allegations a second intruder may also have been involved.
