Infant Girl Dies In Northwest Detroit House Fire

DETROIT (WWJ) -- A 7-month-old girl was killed in a house fire on Detroit's north west side Saturday evening.

Detroit police say that a group of people was inside the house on the 19900 block of Lindsey Street at the time of the fire and the infant was unable to escape.

Reports have indicated that the blaze may have started as a cooking fire. A family member confirmed to WWJ Newsradio 950 that there were five children in the home who were accompanied by a 26-year-old babysitter.
