In The Polar Vortex, State Champs! Has Your High School Sports Covered

More school closings, snow and chilling winds won't stop State Champs! from covering sports all over the mitt. This week we start the highlights in boys basketball at Bloomfield Hills against Clarkston. Keep those tennis shoes on and laces tied tight, as we'll bring you all the action from the Detroit Southeastern at Cass Tech match up and Divine Child at Mercy girls basketball game.

It's not all about basketball this week. We'll move to the rink to watch number 8 Lake Orion and  number 9 Northville boys hockey teams go head for head on the ice. The Mustangs looking to increase their record to 15-3 on the year.

We're not done on the ice yet, Rochester United boys hockey travels to Berkley to defend their 12-2 record and Sean Baligian, takes us in focus on the growth of hockey in the OAA.

As always, Lorne Plant and Tom Markowski go inside the buzz to discuss high school basketball and if a shock clock is needed to speed up the game. Which leads us to our main event. The Walled Lake Central Vikings travel to White Lake Lakeland for a low scoring match up.

So, the moral of the story is… Snow, school closings and below freezing temperatures might slow down traffic, but State Champs! is always in on the go.

Remember, if it's Sunday, it's always State Champs! Watch State Champs! Sundays at noon on the CW50 Detroit. The previous week's show is available on-demand by Monday afternoon.
