In Latest Lawsuit, Woman Claims Bill Cosby Raped Her In Detroit Hotel Room

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A Las Vegas casting agent has joined the growing number of women filing suit in Massachusetts claiming they've been defamed by Bill Cosby.

Kathrine McKee joins at least seven other women who've filed legal actions in Massachusetts accusing the former Cosby Show star of defamation after they say he allowed his lawyers and representatives to brand them as liars as they began coming forward in recent years with their accusations, some of which are decades old.

The 66-year-old McKee self-filed her lawsuit Monday in Springfield, Massachusetts federal court. She claims the comedian raped her in a Detroit hotel room in 1974.

Cosby's attorney Monique Pressley didn't immediately comment. Cosby, who owns a home near Springfield, recently filed a counterclaim for defamation against seven other women jointly suing him in Massachusetts.
