Ice Skating Rink At Campus Martius Park Opens This Weekend For Special Preview

DETROIT (WWJ) - The ice skating rink at Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit is opening this weekend for a special preview.

The rink will be open to the public Friday, Nov. 14 through Sunday, Nov. 16 before the rink officially opens following the Detroit Tree Lighting Ceremony next Friday.

The rink at Campus Martius Park is larger than the internationally renowned rink at Rockefeller Center in New York City and features surround-sound music and color-changing lighting.

Rink side, the Fountain Bistro and Arctic Zone Concessions will provide options for both formal and casual dining experiences. There will also be a variety of beverages from a full bar at the Bistro to hot chocolate in the concession stand.

The rink hours and prices for this special engagement are as follows:

  • Friday: 5 p.m. to midnight
    Saturday: 10 a.m. t0 midnight
    Sunday: Noon to 8 p.m.
  • Adults 13-49: $8
    Children 12 and younger: $7
    Seniors 50 and older: $7
    Skate rental: $3
