I-94 Shut Down For Hours Due To Multi-Vehicle Accident

HARRISON TWP. (WWJ) - A section of I-94 in Macomb County has reopened to traffic after a multi-vehicle accident shut it down for hours Tuesday.

The crash happened early in the morning on eastbound I-94 near Metro Parkway (16 Mile Road) in Harrison Township.

Circumstances surrounding the crash weren't immediately clear, but at least eight vehicles are involved.

At least two people suffered what were described as serious injuries.

Eastbound I-94 was closed at Metro Parkway as police investigated the scene, and gawker delays were also reported on westbound I-94 through the morning rush.

All lanes reopened shortly after 10 a.m.
