Underwear-Clad Man Running On I-94 Struck By Vehicle, Critically Injured

ROMULUS (WWJ) - Authorities have reopened a stretch of I-94 near Detroit Metro Airport after a barely dressed man running in traffic was struck by a vehicle and critically injured.

The incident unfolded just after 5 a.m. Tuesday on eastbound I-94 near I-275, in Romulus.

Police responded to the scene after receiving several calls about a man running in traffic. Witnesses told police the man wasn't wearing a shirt or pants.

The man was struck by a pickup truck and was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. His name and hometown haven't been released.

Police say the driver involved stopped at the scene and was questioned by troopers.

The freeway was closed for just over two hours as police investigated, but has since reopened.
