I-75 Shut Down At I-94 Due To Rocks On The Roadway

DETROIT (WWJ) - Southbound I-75 was shut down at I-94 fora time Monday due to debris on the freeway.

WWJ's Lorna Stevens reported a semi truck lost a load of rocks in an accident Monday morning.

Traffic was backed up from before Clay; and the east and westbound I-94 ramps to I-75 were also closed due to the problem.

Reporting from the Warren overpass just before 11 a.m., WWJ's Charlie Langton said crews were working to clear the rocks — and police were allowing some vehicles to get by the mess in one lane.

Motorists were urged to avoid the area, using Woodward Ave. or the Lodge as possible alternates.

There were no details immediately available from police about what caused the accident. No injuries were reported.

The freeway was back open to traffic by the afternoon.
