House Fire In Eastpointe Claims A Life

EASTPOINTE (WWJ) - Investigators are trying to determine what caused a house fire in Eastpointe that claimed one person's life.

The fire took off early Tuesday morning at a home on Lexington Avenue, in a neighborhood near 9 Mile and Kelly roads.

Authorities say a woman rescued from inside the home was rushed to the hospital, but medical workers were unable to save her and she was pronounced dead.

Fire investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire, which appears to have started in a front bedroom.
