Hooper To Transfer To Oakland U

ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) — Max Hooper is transferring from St. John's to Oakland University and will have two years of basketball eligibility remaining.

The Michigan school announced the move Monday. Hooper, a 6-foot-6 guard, graduated in three years from St. John's.

Oakland coach Greg Kampe hopes Hooper can help replace 3-point shooting star Travis Bader, who was a four-year starter for the Golden Grizzlies. Hooper went 25 of 62 from beyond the arc for St. John's last season. He attempted only three shots from two-point range all season.

Hooper began his college career at Harvard in 2011-12.
