HIV-Positive Saginaw Man Sentenced In Woman's Rape

SAGINAW, Mich. (AP) - A Michigan man has been sentenced for rape and not telling his victim that he was HIV-positive.

The Saginaw News reports Tuesday that a circuit court judge on Monday ordered 49-year-old Lonnie Perkins to spend five to 15 years in prison for third-degree criminal sexual conduct and sexual penetration with an uninformed partner.

Perkins pleaded guilty in September.

Chief Assistant Prosecutor Christopher Boyd said a 51-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in January after visiting Perkins' Saginaw home. She also suffered injuries to her face and body.
