Hit-And-Run Driver In Stolen Jeep Crosses Centerline, Kills Teen In Crash

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police say 19-year-old was killed when a man driving a stolen Jeep crossed the centerline and crashed into his vehicle.

The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday on Greenfield Road at Curtis Street, just a few blocks north of Outer Drive West.

Police say the suspect was driving a stolen Jeep Liberty when he crossed the centerline and collided with a vehicle driven by a 43-year-old man. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

The man was taken to a local hospital with injuries. His 19-year-old son, who was a passenger in the vehicle, died at the scene.

Police are now searching for the hit-and-run driver, but were not immediately able to provide a description.
