Historic Church Ravaged By Fire Will Hold Final Service Sunday

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - An historic Detroit church was ravaged by fire last weekend will hold its final service Sunday.

A candlelight vigil and non-denominational service will be held Sunday evening at the site of the former First Unitarian Church of Detroit on Woodward Avenue, just north of downtown.

Preservation Detroit says the service will include a speech delivered at First Unitarian's first service in 1890. The church has been vacant for several years.
