High School Student Dies After Falling From Parking Structure

MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ/AP) - An 18-year-old Detroit-area high school student has died in a fall from a hospital's parking structure.

The Dakota High School student fell around 4 p.m. Friday from the six-level parking structure at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens.

Clinton Township Police Capt. Bruce Wade told the Macomb Daily that officers "responded to an injured person on the pavement" and found the teen unresponsive. He was rushed to the hospital's emergency room where he was pronounced dead after failed resuscitation attempts.

Wade says foul play is not suspected and that the student's name won't be released until Monday.

Dakota High School is in Macomb Township, northeast of Detroit.
