Hockey is a brutal sport, but there's a twist here because usually the brutality doesn't occur during a celebration.

During a Missouri State high school hockey championship game, Francis Howell North won the title and they celebrated with a big pileup on the goalie.

D.J. LaMartina was one of the last players to hop onto the pile and one of the more unfortunate situations happened.

LaMartina went to dive onto the pile and appeared to slip and caught a skate to the face.

He suffered a major gash to both his chin and his upper lip, which you can see below.

There's another one that's even more gnarly, so CLICK HERE if you can take it. (Ewwwww... you did it!)

LaMartina did tweet he was OK.

Note to the wise, maybe a pileup in hockey isn't the smartest choice when there are razor sharp skates in the mix! Luckily for him, all he got was a scar; Imagine if the skate had caught him in the neck.
