DETROIT (WWJ) - A citizen of Ghana was found guilty of importing more than one kilo of heroin into the United States.

The announcement Tuesday from U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade says Emmanuel Gyamfi arrived at Detroit Metro Airport from Ghana in January of last year, where border protection officers discovered his suitcase contained a false bottom.

The jury found Gyamfi guilty of one count of importation of a controlled substance and one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
