Heavy Rain Floods Streets In Michigan Mobile Home Community

PORT HURON TOWNSHIP (AP) -- Heavy rains have flooded streets in a Michigan mobile home park.

The Times Herald of Port Huron reports that maintenance crews at the 146-home Port of Call community in Port Huron Township were using portable pumps Monday to clear the streets.

Port Huron Township Fire Chief Craig Miller said firefighters checked to make sure no one was stranded in vehicles in the community northeast of Detroit.

St. Clair County Homeland Security and Emergency Management Director Jeff Friedland says the Black River also is being monitored for flooding.

Friedland says water levels "are still up from last week's rain so runoff over the next couple of days could pose problems."
