Health Care Enrollment Expo Today At Cobo Center

DETROIT (WWJ) - With less than two weeks to go before the deadline to sign up for health insurance under Obamacare, there's a big enrollment fair going on in Detroit.

Wayne County officials are hosting their annual Cover the Uninsured Expo at Cobo Center, featuring certified Affordable Care Act navigators to help with health insurance applications and Medicaid enrollment.

It's part of a county-wide push to get residents enrolled before the looming federal deadline.

Attendees can also get free health screenings and help with smoking cessation.

The expo runs 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, and it's free and open to the public.  The event will be held in Cobo's Michigan Hall, with free parking offered on the Cobo roof.

If you can't make it, another Enroll Wayne County event will be held Saturday, March 29, at Wayne County Community College District's Belleville Western Campus, 9555 Haggerty Road, from 9 a.m. til 3 p.m.
