Hazel Park Family Anxiously Awaits Word Of Missing Brother

HAZEL PARK (WWJ) - A Hazel Park family is nervously awaiting the identification of a body found in Detroit this week. It's believed to be that of Jacob Gasperoni, who went missing over a month ago after leaving for a bus on Eight Mile Road.

Relatives say Gasperoni had issues with drugs but was working to turn his life around.

His brother Joshua says his mind is racing:

"It's going a hundred miles a minute - I'm just going back to what I could have done differently for him, to maybe not have this happen - because if I could have changed something - the way I think I could have done a little more to steer him in the right direction - I'm very distraught," says Joshua.

"He was a great person - he really was - he just had his demons. He had a heart of gold ... and he loved his children, he really did, his children meant the most to him."

Joshua says they learned from witnesses in the area that Jacob allegedly fought another man in a dispute over money before he went missing.
