DETROIT (WWJ) - A statewide coalition advocating equal right for all citizens visiting a midtown church.

The group Michigan for Marriage was invited by the First Unitarian Universalist Church to discuss the subject of gay marriage.

Gina Calcagno, campaign manager, Michigan for Marriage says dialogue on the subject is important.

"We are having those conversations because we know that conversations are helping move the issue forward," she said.

"We talked about how the laws have impacted families across Michigan," said Calcagno.
